Pogamia pinnata, also called millettia pinnata, Indian beech, karanj, etc., is a tree that belong to a pea family. This tree can be found in Indian subcontinent, China, Japan and other countries. Each part of this plant is useful. The pongamia pinnata seeds can be used in making oil. The bean shaped seed of an average size of 2 cm is of redish brown color.
