Grey Millet
Scientific Name: Pennisetum glaucum
India is world's top producer of millet, followed by Nigeria, Niger and China. Millets are available in four different colors- grey, white, yellow, and red. These tiny grey millet seeds contain approx. 12% protein, 4% fat, 14% fiber and 12% moisture. With unique nutritious qualities, these seeds provide nutrition to many species of birds. These seeds can be offered in tray-type or tube type feeders to birds. Also called jap millet and banyard millet, grey millet is mostly given to backyard birds. This kind of millet is also used for preparing several bird mixes. These seeds can also be used for human consumption. Breads, biscuits and cakes can be made using grey millet seeds as main ingredient. These seeds are offered in PP bags of different quantities.
